Power Automate

Power Automate is Microsoft's workflow service: flows that react to an event or a schedule and then do something — send an approval, notify someone, write to a list. It has no user interface of its own, which is the point.

A lot of tools that get built as applications were really a process, not a screen. Approvals, reminders, escalations and scheduled updates are flows on top of a list, and with standard connectors they cost nothing extra.

The thing to plan for is ownership. A flow built by someone who has since left is a recognised category of organisational debt, because nobody knows what it does until it stops doing it.
